PSHE and RSE

At Winlaton West Lane we provide a high-quality PSHE (Personal, Social and Health) education which also encompasses RSE (Relationships and Sex education) which engages, inspires and challenges pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to embrace the challenges of creating a happy and successful adult life. Pupils need to develop knowledge that will enable them to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships ready for the next stage in their lives as they grow in independence.

At Winlaton West Lane through RSE and PSHE we endeavour to help our pupils to put this knowledge into practice as they develop the capacity to make sound decisions when facing risks, challenges and complex contexts. Everyone faces difficult situations in their lives, through RSE and PSHE we can support young people to develop resilience, to know how and when to ask for help, and to know where to access support. Through our PSHE and RSE curriculum, we are building skills for life teaching our children about appreciation of others, their cultures, traditions, and ways of life.

A membership association and charity, we support over 60,000 teachers and schools with PSHE resources, training, guidance and advice.
