Health and Wellbeing Champion
Health & Wellbeing at West Lane with the Health and Wellbeing Champion
Mrs Richardson is our Family Support Worker here at West Lane.
She has worked in education settings since 2015 and offers a nurturing approach to children and their families. She has already built up positive relationships with lots of our families.
Mrs Richardson’s adaptability and past experience allows her to work across all key stages. She has a great understanding of Children’s development and has experience of working with lots of families whose Children are of ages 2-11.
Her main roles in school involve working with our children and families to ensure their physical and mental health and wellbeing, which is a major priority here at West Lane. She works particularly closely with some of our more vulnerable children and families offering support, advice and a listening ear. Whatever your concerns, she is always on hand for a chat! She is also responsible for working in partnership with families who are struggling with issues linked to attendance and is always happy to offer friendly advice and support – however big or small!
Mrs Richardosn, like all of use here at West Lane, believes that early intervention is key because, “It’s easier to build up a child than it is to repair an adult.”
If you would like to contact Mrs Richardson for any advice or support, you can call us on 0191 414 2557.
She is often out on the school yard before and after school if you need to grab her for a chat.
You are also always welcome to pop into the office to see if she is available for a chat; if not, you will be able to arrange a time to meet with her or for her to give you a ring. Her school email address is wellbeing@wwlcp.school
